Health inequities are pervasive. Disparities in healthcare quality, safety, and outcomes are well documented across numerous and often intersecting domains, including, but not limited to social constructs such as race, ethnicity, and gender identity, as well as poverty and geography. It is imperative that we move beyond simply describing healthcare disparities. Scholarship now needs to focus on identifying solutions from across the healthcare delivery system that address the underlying drivers of health inequity, including social determinants of health.
