The Power of Empathic Leadership to Effect Quality, Population Health and Outcomes in Healthcare

This presentation will include an overview of how to build an empathic organization with evidence from research conducted at Mass. General Hospital. The research includes a RCT that proves that Empathy be taught, a meta analysis that relationship factors directly influence health outcomes and perception of clinician warmth and competence. A discussion of how empathic leadership can help achieve quality outcomes in population health will complement the research data.
