Experience in quality and patient safety spans the last 30 years. Anne VanBuren’s responsibilities include oversight for ambulatory quality improvement, internal and external reporting requirements (i.e., clinical registry participation, TJC/CMS quality reporting programs and quality-based payment programs), ensuring compliance with TJC and other regulatory agency requirements related to performance improvement, and oversight of evidence-based medicine guideline development and implementation. In addition, she has provided education at all levels of the organization about quality management principles, methods, and tools. She has extensive experience facilitating interdisciplinary teams to improve quality of care and the competitive position of the organization. As well as directing and managing outcomes measurement including study design, data collection and management, interpretation of results, and facilitating the use of the results to improve patient outcomes. On a national level, she has coordinated organizational engagement and improvements related to large multi-site quality improvement initiatives, including CMS Partnership for Patients.
