Carol Gomes, MS, CPHQ, FACHE

Chief Executive Officer/Chief Operating Officer – Stony Brook University Hospital

Carol is a member of the senior executive team, serving as the chief executive officer and chief operating officer at Stony Brook University Hospital. She earned two Master’s degrees from Stony Brook University in Management and Policy from the Harriman School for Management and Policy and Healthcare Management and Administration from the School of Allied Health Professions. She teaches for the School of Public Health at Stony Brook University and holds certifications as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, a Certified Practitioner of Healthcare from the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and numerous certifications in laboratory sciences. Carol serves on numerous boards associated with healthcare activities, including the Greater New York Hospital Association, Hospital Association of New York State, and ASCP’s Lab Medicine Editorial Board.
