Jill Smith is a nurse practitioner that is interested in promoting quality, innovative care while maintaining best practice. She has been a nurse practitioner for 22 years and the last 14 years have been in the Preop/ Peri anesthesia area. Smith has been involved in the creation of the Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH) since its first meeting of the stake holders Aug. 13, 2014. She has been instrumental in onboarding the services that use the service as well as the creation of standard work utilized and leading the Advance Practice Provider Team. She has been involved in the COVID/ COLD score tool creation and implementation as well as the leader of the influenza immunization team. She works very closely with her medical director to maintain quality care and has recently expanded the surgical home to Akron Children’s Hospital’s Mahoning Valley Campus.
