Senior Quality Manager – OSUWMC
Mary Wightman is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) with a Master’s in Organizational Development & Management as well as Social Work. She has been a Senior Quality Manager for The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) – East Hospital since 2008. Wightman manages and facilitates process improvement initiatives through the utilization of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve & Control (DMAIC) process methodology. She is considered a subject matter expert in sepsis early recognition and treatment for OSUWMC. In addition, she conducts thorough root cause analysis and constructs action plans associated with sentinel events. Wightman facilitates East Hospital’s monthly Multidisciplinary Quality Committee meetings. Lastly, she has provided multiple poster & oral presentations at state, national & international level conferences (including the American Association of Critical Care Nurses National Teaching Institute & Critical Care Exposition) in relation to her efforts to improve the quality and efficacy of hospital patient care.
