Carin Skapars, LMHC, CPHQ

Staff VP Quality and Accreditation – Elevance Health, Carelon Behavior

Carin is an effective, strategic leader responsible for the planning and oversight of accreditation, performance improvement, health equity, and member experience. She and her team use industry benchmarks to assess the performance of clinical programs and our provider network to improve care delivery. Carin also leads the development and implementation of the quality management blueprint. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President, Clinical Quality where she was responsible for clinical quality and member safety across the enterprise. Before joining our team, Carin held several quality-focused roles with Centene Corporation, Magellan Health Services, and the New York State Office of Mental Health. She has also served as a Mental Health Counselor and as a Mental Health Crisis Worker. Carin holds a Master of Science in counseling psychology from the State University of New York at Oswego and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Alfred University. She is also a licensed mental health counselor and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.
