Leslie Hazle is the director of clinical risk and patient safety at McLaren Medical Group in Michigan. She has oversight of clinical operations, staff development and education, infection prevention, clinical policies, and clinical practice standards of support. She has been a member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) since 2013. Her publications include an article on quality and safety in the British Medical Journal for Quality and Safety. She has presented conferences related to the scope of practice, clinical guidelines, involving patients and families in clinical quality improvement work and patient and family-centered care. She received her BSN from the University of Michigan and an MSN from Texas Woman’s University. She has worked as an advanced practice nurse, clinical nurse specialist, nurse educator, unit manager, quality improvement specialist, and director of clinical operations, patient resources, and safety. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality as recognized by NAHQ.
