As the ACS NSQIP surgical clinical reviewer for her facility, Barbara Cheney has brought a new level of data to our quality committees which have facilitated physician engagement. Her background in surgical services as a circulator, as well as an inpatient endoscopy nurse, has allowed me to package and communicate the data effectively in partnering with a surgeon champion. She collaborated with her clinical quality specialists to share data and build upon it, taking it to the individual service lines to highlight opportunities for improvement.
