Director of Accreditation and Patient Safety – Northside Hospital

Ellen Evans, RN, MSN, MPH, CPHQ, CJCP, CPPS, has worked in nursing for almost 40 years and in Quality and Patient Safety for over 20 years. She teaches and presents on topics of quality and patient safety weekly. In addition, she oversees accreditation and regulatory standards and compliance for five hospitals and over 350 outpatient facilities. She interacts will all state, CMS, Joint Commission and other surveyors and regulatory bodies who perform onsite inspections. She oversees three large committees at her organization: system-wide accreditation continuous readiness committee; a forum which provides education and training to the clinical and operational leaders across all departments and specialties; and the Sentinel Events Committee. She has spoken at local, regional, and national meetings and has served on the board of a national nursing organization.
