Kathryn Farrell, EdD, MSN, RN

Assistant Clinical Professor, Quality, Safety, and Risk Management Track Director – Drexel University

Kathryn (Katie) Farrell, EdD, MSN, RN is an assistant clinical professor and Track
Director for the Quality, Safety, Risk Management track. She graduated from
Georgetown University with her BSN, received an MSN in Health Leadership and
Teaching Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania and most recently completed
her EdD from Drexel University with a research focus on implicit bias. Her clinical
background includes hematology/oncology and the post anesthesia care unit at New
York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in NYC and at Penn Medicine in
Philadelphia. Farrell has an extensive background working in quality, safety and
performance improvement. Farrell is Six Sigma Green Belt certified. Prior to joining
Drexel University, she worked as a professional practice consultant in the Penn
Medicine Health System. In that role, she developed and led many quality improvement
initiatives related to patient safety, patient satisfaction and staff engagement.
She has published and presented at many national and local conferences on these
topics.
